With many mobile network operators rapidly progressing their 5G trials, things are looking good for a predicted commercial launch in 2020. Initial trials started in Japan last year, with Nokia and Samsung leading the way. This year at Mobile World Congress, Ericsson demonstrated 5 Gbps speeds in the 15 GHz frequency band, demonstrating the rapid momentum of 5G development.
