Systems Mechanics is a leading big data software solution provider to the Telecoms industry. We are looking to add a talented customer facing database engineer to our growing in-house development team. This is an exciting time to take a key role in our organisation that is rapidly expanding and offers a real differentiator to its customers.
Based in Whitstable, Kent, we have an immediate opening for a data engineer to join our expanding team. We are a fast-growing Telecoms Big Data provider, looking for a person with a good degree who is seeking a challenging and rewarding career in software engineering.
The position is based in our technical team, maintaining and enhancing the real-time view we provide of customer’s networks, taking responsibility for databases serving billions of values a day. You will contribute to live projects from the outset, so core skills are requirements. You will work with our internal development and support teams as well as directly with the customer, so need to communicate effectively with people on many technical levels.
The role includes an on-call element, giving third line support on a weekly rota basis.
- SQL/RDBMS experience
- Problem solving / lateral thinking
- Customer facing experience
- DB Performance optimisation and monitoring
- Linux shell/terminal
- Working using Scrum
- Red Hat/CentOS
- Mobile Networks (GSM, UMTS, CDMA or LTE)
- SVN version control
